During the 2025-2026 school year, Arts and Music in Schools funding supported the implementation of each school's arts plan through certificated teachers and professional teaching artists. Students participated in comprehensive Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) instruction, while several schools expanded opportunities through Media Arts. VAPA instruction included drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, music, movement, dance, and recorder-based music education. Students explored diverse cultures, artistic traditions, and cross-curricular connections with English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies while creating, presenting, responding to, and connecting with works of art aligned to the California Arts Standards. These experiences fostered creativity, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, cultural awareness, and self-expression, supporting the development of the whole child through engaging, standards-aligned arts education.
