HSD Residents: Attending Your Home Middle School

If your student plans on attending their home school, then no further action is required. Your student will automatically be enrolled in their home school, and you will not need to complete the enrollment form.
Timeline for Open Enrollment

April 28, 2025: Enrollment forms sent to parents/guardians of 5th grade students who reside within the boundaries of the Hawthorne School District.

May 1-30, 2025: Enrollment forms accepted at any elementary school office of Hawthorne School District.

June 6, 2025: Raffle to establish the waiting list.

June 30, 2025: Notification regarding the status of students on the waiting list will be mailed to families.

Late July - August 2025: Approval of enrollment applications begin as classroom space becomes available.

September 26, 2025: Approval of enrollment applications ends.

October 1, 2025: Notification that the enrollment application has expired and that we were unable to grant the request will be mailed to parents/guardians.

New to Hawthorne School District?
Your student is considered a "New" Student for the 2025-26 school year if:
They were not enrolled in an HSD school during the 2024-25 school year or any year prior.
If your student was previously enrolled in HSD, but not currently attending a school in the Hawthorne School District, your student is not classified as a New Student. Please visit your local school site office and ask for support to complete the enrollment process.
