District-wide School Uniform Implementation

With the start of the new year, we will continue to require school uniforms at all eleven of our school sites in the Hawthorne School District.

Hawthorne School District schools have had a uniform dress policy in place for several years. Each school has worked with its School Site Councils and made a recommendation to the Hawthorne School District Board of Trustees for adoption and implementation.

School uniforms will assist staff in identifying students who belong on campus and help identify our students when out in the community. Uniforms help establish a safe and productive culture at a school, and we look forward to very positive outcomes with our implementation.

School spirit is the heart of our school community, fostering a sense of pride and cohesive identity. School uniforms play a significant role in promoting this spirit. They serve as a visual representation of our school, promoting a sense of unity and belonging among our students. Like members of a sports team, students who wear uniforms feel like they are part of one group and therefore tend to perform better and care more about their school.

Students are expected to attend school in uniform on the first day of school.

If you have any questions or need further information regarding uniforms, please do not hesitate to contact your school office. We are here to support and guide you. We look forward to another exciting year!
