Expanded Learning Programs
The Hawthorne School District's Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) is an innovative initiative designed to enrich and extend students' educational experiences beyond the school day. This program is divided into two main compartments: Afterschool and Intersession Programs.
Our ELOP is designed to deepen student engagement, expand horizons, and enhance personal and academic growth. We invite you to explore our programs, discover the benefits, and join us in creating an inclusive, exciting learning environment.
Afterschool Programs
Our TK-8 Afterschool Programs blend academic support, fitness, games, and social-emotional learning in a safe, fun environment. Students increase their achievement, build friendships, and contribute to their community, all while enjoying diverse activities that foster personal growth and leadership skills.
TK-5: Right at School
Hawthorne School District partnered with Right at School in 2023 to bring its innovative programs to our TK-5th grade students, at no cost to our families. RAS is committed to reimagining the out-of-school time to inspire students to become lifelong learners.
6-8: Action Youth America
Led by Action Youth America (A.Y.A.), the A.L.L. Program is designed to help students increase their academic achievement, provide a safe and supportive place after school, as well as have fun with friends and caring adults while developing social relationships and engaging in enriching activities.
Intersession Programs
For TK-8th Grade
Our Intersession Programs bridge the gap between academic terms, providing enriching educational opportunities during winter, spring, and summer breaks. These programs blend academic reinforcement with fun, engaging activities, ensuring continuous learning and personal development for students.
