Expanded Learning Program
The Hawthorne School District’s Expanded Learning Program (ELP) is designed to enrich and extend students’ educational experiences beyond the regular school day at HSD Elementary Schools and Middle Schools. The ELP Team collaborates with service providers and vendors to increase student engagement, broaden learning opportunities, and support students’ personal and academic growth. The HSD Expanded Learning Program includes two main components: afterschool programs and intersession programs.

Our Intersession Programs bridge the gap between academic terms, providing enriching educational opportunities during winter, spring, and summer breaks. These programs blend academic reinforcement with fun, engaging activities, ensuring continuous learning and personal development for students.
