Take these steps now to ensure your family is prepared:
- Update School Emergency Contacts: Ensure multiple trusted adults are listed to pick up your child.

A Family Member is Detained
Students will be released only to individuals listed as emergency contacts. The District will collaborate with families or extended family members to ensure students are cared for appropriately and provide immediate support services to impacted students.
- Inform a trusted teacher or administrator
- Request help contacting your designated emergency caregivers
- Connect with your siblings and trusted family members on your emergency contact list
- Ask to speak with a counselor for emotional support
- Contact legal aid organizations for assistance
- If possible, remain in school
- Keep emergency contact information with you at all times
- Know where emergency documents are stored
- Save essential numbers in your phone or notebook
- Use the Ice detainee locator system to find your parent’s location
